City Girls - Virgin Money Lounge December

As if the title of this post didn't give it away, this was a 'City Girls' event. I had been to a few of these previously, one in Sheffield and one in Leeds. I love the laid back atmosphere of the events, where you can mooch around talking to fellow Bloggers and Brands. This event was very similar to the previous ones, there was a stand from the Body Shop, discussing the upcoming Christmas ranges of make-up and lotions. I was intrigued by what they had to offer, so I did get my smokey eyes done to put it to the test. I was looking for something to make my eyes pop, as I wear fairly big glasses I find that no matter what I do they are hiding behind my specs. The girls were lovely and I fell in love with the vanilla chai perfume and body conditioner. I must have dropped enough hints as I did end up getting this for Christmas.

For those interested in photography, and taking it to the next level, there was a stand from Harrison Cameras, who's shop is located on London Road. The girls there were super helpful in discussing the latest cameras that we could use for blogging photographs and the importance of the lighting equipment and techniques to make the most of the camera you have, and to help to improve our flat lays. When I am looking for my next camera I will pop along to get some advice from the guys at Harrison.

During the event Rebecca from 'LovefromRebecca' arrived and we could get crafty and creative in small groups. This, I was huge fan of, as it is nice to do something a little different at events. We made gift tags, iced biscuits and cupcakes and Rebecca was so lovely and brimming with creative ideas. I do usually struggle with anything crafty but Rebecca made it look very simple and easy to do. I know that next time, before I pick up the £3-4 gift tags for a gift, I will have a go at making my own. I really like handmade gifts as it does show a lot of thought and effort has gone into it.

We also had treats from Humpit, all of which were delicious and went down like a treat, with a glass of bucks fizz. I especially liked the pitta and humous, so much that I kept going back for more. The event was held at the Virgin Money Lounge, which did seem a little odd when I first got the invite as it's inside a bank, but this is a bank with a more relaxed feel so upstairs there is a lounge and there is also a bowling alley for Children's parties.

Huge thanks to the City Girls for organising this event and I am looking forward to the next one!

Here are a few photos from the goodie bag and my winnings from the raffle.
