What's in the Bag?

I thought I would share with you this week, the items I carry around in my handbag. I love reading these posts and I have realised that I have never actually written one myself. So I thought I would take the opportunity to cater for nosey people like me, who are interested in what essentials people carry around in their handbags.

Besides all the loose change, odd receipts and used tickets, I do have useful things which I use and need on a daily basis. Somehow every few weeks I look through my bag and discover at least four lipsticks, which have all found their way into my bag.

I love this notebook, it was a souvenir brought back by my boyfriend from Barcelona last year. It is the perfect size to put in my handbag, just in case I have any blog post ideas or any lists I need to write when I am out and about. This little book also has a little envelope at the back, so I can store little bits of paper and make sure they don't get lost.

I have had this Filofax for a few years now and I can't live without one now, as it has everything in. All my little reminders, to do lists and people's Birthdays. I would be lost without it. The diary inserts make planning and organising things an awful lot easier. I do still put notes in my phone to remind me to do things, but with the old fashioned way, it's so much easier to see things when they are written down a few weeks/days in advance.

This Filofax can last me for years, because you can get new diary inserts each year, so it is really something to invest in if you don't already have a 2016 diary in your handbag.

Kirby Grips
I love these little grips, I am always losing them and finding them where ever I go. I tend to leave a little trail all around my my house, much to the annoyance of my boyfriend. They are handy as my hair never tends to stay in place. I often end up with loose hair bits falling out of my bobble, or get annoyed with my side fringe, and with these grips I can just put my hair back.

Hair Bobble
Unless you have short hair, every girl has to have a bobble. For that unexpected rain fall when you have forgotten your brolly or that windy day that catches you by surprise. A hair bobble is a definitely a handbag must.

Burts Bee's Hand Salve
This hand cream is great. It's more of a balm so is handy for when you are on the go, perfect for your handbag. As this is a balm you do need to melt it down with your fingers before applying to your hands, I like this though, as it means you only use the amount you need.

This product is packed full of natural ingredients and it smells really fresh without being really over-powering. The product takes a few minutes to sink into your skin so I do avoid touching anything until it is dry because it has a slightly greasy texture.

Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel
I do find it hard to leave the house without this sometimes, I am no germaphobe but I think it's important to make sure you have clean hands before eating or after touching something in a pubic place. Most of them now these days are also fast drying so you don't have to wait for the gel to dry.

I can't stand dry chapped lips, so Carmex is a lifesaver for me as it helps keeps my lips moisturised. I am not too keen on the pot as it does mean you need to use your finger to apply. I do prefer the tube lip balm.

4 Head
This is my go to product for when I have a headache or a migraine. When I get a bad headache not even aspirin or paracetamol will help shift it, so they can seem to take over my life. The only product which helps, besides getting into bed, is 4 Head.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream
I have already blogged about my love for this cream before, it is so handy and versatile that can be used for so many things that it is a great thing to have in your bag.

I don't always wear lipsticks, this is something that I tend to wear when I go for meals or nights out. I then pop them in my bag for reapplying and topping up. Then one lipstick can turn into at least four and before you know it your whole lipstick collection is now in your handbag.

Burt's Bees Hand Cream
This is another hand cream but is different from the balm from Burts Bees. This one is Honey and Grapeseed oil and it smells AMAZING. I think the only reason I use this sometimes is for the smell. This hand cream is more of a lotion so it feels a lot more nourishing on my hands but does take a few minutes to dry, so I tend to use this when I can be hands free for a few minutes, but it is definitely worth the wait.

Burt's Bees Cuticle Cream
I know, another Burts Bees product, but this is must have for cuticles. It helps moisturise your cuticles, leaving them looking super healthy. It also has the scent of lemon so is really fresh and a little different from the usual coco butter that you would usually expect.

Thats a nosey inside my handbag, let me know what are your handbag essentials, or if you have any tips for anything else thats perhaps missing from mine.
